How to Prepare for Your Bikini Wax

By CoCo Esthetic’s

Getting ready for your bikini wax? Here’s how to make your appointment as smooth (literally!) and comfortable as possible:

1. Let It Grow

Your hair needs to be about ¼ inch long (think the length of a grain of rice) — usually about 2–3 weeks of no shaving. This helps the wax grip properly and gives the best results.

2. Gently Exfoliate

The day before your appointment, lightly exfoliate with a gentle scrub or mitt. This helps remove dead skin and prevent ingrown hairs.

Skip exfoliating the day of your wax to avoid sensitivity.

3. Clean Skin Only

Come freshly showered with no lotions, oils, or deodorants on the area. Clean skin ensures better wax adhesion and less irritation.

4. Wear Comfy Clothes

Wear loose, breathable clothing to your appointment. Avoid tight underwear or leggings right after — your skin will thank you!

5. Minimize Discomfort

If you’re sensitive, take an over-the-counter pain reliever like ibuprofen 30–45 minutes before your wax.

Skip caffeine right before — it can make you more sensitive.

6. Health & Safety First

Please let us know if you’re on skin-thinning medications like Retin-A or Accutane, have tanned recently, or have any irritation or infection in the area. We want to keep your skin healthy and safe.
