Spray Tan Aftercare

By CoCo Esthetic’s

Glow now. Glow later. Here’s how to make your tan last!

You’ve got your glow — now let’s keep it flawless for as long as possible! Follow these easy aftercare steps:

1. Let It Set

  • Avoid showering, sweating, swimming, or getting wet for at least 8–12 hours (or as advised, if you had a rapid-rinse formula).

  • Do not touch or rub your skin while it’s developing.

2. First Rinse Only — No Soap

  • Your first shower should be a lukewarm rinse only — no soap, shaving, or scrubbing.

  • You’ll see bronzer wash off — that’s normal! The tan continues to develop underneath.

3. Stay Moisturized

  • Hydrate your skin daily with an oil-free lotion or moisturizer.

  • Moisturized skin = longer-lasting tan and even fading.

  • Avoid products with alcohol, retinol, or fragrance

4. No Exfoliation or Harsh Products

  • Avoid exfoliating, waxing, or shaving for a few days.

  • Skip body washes with sulfates or exfoliating beads.

5. Avoid Chlorine & Long Soaks

  • Limit time in pools, hot tubs, saunas, and long baths, which can fade your tan faster.

6. No Tanning Beds or Excess Sun

• Spray tans do not protect against UV rays. Always wear SPF!

  • Tanning beds + spray tans = uneven fading and skin damage.
